Abstract: Diabetes mellitus, a well-known clinical entity with various late complications, has become a global epidemic. In ethno-pharmacology, many herbs have attracted substantial attention because they have beneficial effects over Western pharmaceutical medication in treating diabetes. This work supports valuable knowledge on using main herbs in control and management of diabetes mellitus in Traditional Vietnamese Medicine. In addition, we discussed for future prospects and suggest that practical application of herbs in the treatment of diabetes mellitus is future trends. The authors regard that this will be helpful to provide insight science information for readers, researcher, reviewers, and editors who are interested in the related field of the anti-diabetes mellitus drug development from nature products.
